WE ARE IN APPLE'S "10 CLASSICAL ALBUMS YOU MUST HEAR THIS MONTH"

Thank you Apple Music for electing “Peaceful Choir” as one of the 10 CLASSICAL ALBUMS YOU MUST HEAR THIS MONTH, alongside albums by such great artists as Igor Levit, Lang Lang - 郎朗 and Jess Gillam.

CROWDFUNDING

POST-PRODUCTION FOR

"PEACEFUL CHOIR"

COMING SOON ON KICKSTARTER!

We need your help! As you can imagine, the costs for such a project are tremendous! Whilst all artists including our artistic director have waived their fees, we still have to pay for studio hire of the renowned Tessmar recording studio in Hanover and for post production costs.

We had initially planned to cover the costs of the album with live performances, but since these have all been cancelled we really need your help. The coronavirus pandemic is financially destroying the music and arts communities throughout the world, with government funding at all levels cut or removed completely.

Together we can make it happen, because we firmly believe that #Singing Unites!

Our new album is flying - 1.4 million streams so far!

Thank you so much for listening to us. Each day last week Alexander Armstrong on Classic FM featured a song from our new album and  enjoyed contemplating how peaceful we really are. We've hit many playlists on Apple and are featured on Global Apple New Classical Album charts. In addition, our music has been aired in many countries from the UK to South Africa and the Netherlands. It's been a good two weeks since the release ;-)

Featuring Artists: Lavinia Meijer, Gereon Theis, Esther Abrami, Maarja Nuut, Tim Allhoff

Composers: Hans Zimmer, Max Richter, Eric Whitacre, Karl Jenkins, John Rutter, Hauschka, Ola Gjeilo, Dan Forrest, Elaine Hagenberg, David Reichelt, Helen Ostafew, Jake Runestad and many more. We have given them our voices so that their message can be heard.

'PEACEFUL CHOIR'

THE HIDDEN STORY

MESSAGE BEHIND THE MUSIC

We believe that singing is a vital part of being human. We represent contemporary classic composers as they have so much to say to the world and we are delighted to feature them prominently on our album: Eric Whitacre, in his ‘Seal Lullaby’ describes the dying seas, Hauschka (Volker Bertelmann), whose piece ‘Fifteen Million Acres’ focuses on the apocalyptic and destructive power of the Australian bushfires. Strong emotions also play a major role in the lyrics we sing: the loneliness that is described in David Reichelt's ‘Wandering Soul’ as well as the wordless grief that Hans Zimmer addresses in his piece ‘Aurora’ - an allegedly ‘unsingable’ and monumental work to which our singers lend their voice to a whole new emotional depth.

We see that contemporary composers are no less ambassadors of our time than writers, painters, directors and choreographers. We have given them our voices so that their messages can be heard. Our debut album is therefore aimed at all, whether connoisseurs of choral music or new discoverers who are open to what we - and the composers through our voices, have to say to the world.

360 REALITY AUDIO FORMAT

PRODUCED AT TESSMAR STUDIO, HANNOVER BY GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING SOUND ENGINEER, GREGOR ZIELINSKY.

We are one of the first choirs in the world to produce an album using the new 360 Reality Audio Format from Sony. This recording technology is a brand-new listening experience: you are immersed in the live concert atmosphere from the comfort of your own living room, as if you are surrounded by our singers.

You will be the first to experience these new 3D sound aesthetics related to the human voice. This version will be available for you to download exclusively. To achieve the expansive sound quality we were positioned in a circle using individual microphones. This unique arrangement enabled a 360 ° Reality audio mix of the album, which can be heard in special digital versions.

You will be the first to use this new 3D sound aesthetic which will soon be exclusively available for you to download. ‘Peaceful Choir’ was produced by Grammy awarding-winning sound engineer, Gregor Zielinsky.

RESOUNDING SUCCESS

 VIRTUAL CHOIR PROJECT

WITH KARL JENKINS & THE STAY AT HOME CHOIR

We teamed up with the Stay At Home Choir and World Orchestra for Peace for an exciting GLOBAL VIRTUAL CHOIR project  in collaboration with Karl Jenkins.

If you took part then thank you for joining us! This wonderful video merges the 5000+ singers who recorded during lock-down, with shots from our very first concert as the World Choir for Peace in 2018.

In a time when many people felt isolated, this project has drawn us together and given us a sense of world community and true support. Of course the culminating magic was this wonderful premiere on 6th Sep on Classic FM but the support this project has given so many is inconceivable. With workshops, lounge chats and rehearsals with Karl Jenkins himself over a ten week period, we felt connected and experienced what music is truly about. Our conductor Nicol Matt and co-conductor André Cruz held rehearsals with Karl Jenkins whilst some of our other singers joined the lounge chats to give tips on technique and recording.

This project was in partnership with Boosey & Hawkes, Decca Records, Rondo Media, National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Hal

Leonard Corporation, Musicroom, Distinguished Concerts International New York - DCINY, nkoda.

I HOPE

"HERE IS OUR MESSAGE OF HOPE TO THE WORLD. Singers from 28 countries singing and sharing their messages of hope for the future of our world in their own languages."

Choir Artistic Director: Nicol Matt

From our own homes our core singers have recorded I HOPE, composed by Kim André Arnesen and lyrics by Charles Anthony Silvestri. The sound team from Tonstudio Tessmar, Hannover have used their talents to mix us and with video artist Dagmar Tisch they have created our first virtual music video! The beauty of this piece is that many of our singers share with us their own message of peace, relevant to our current times.

Partner of Hannover

UNESCO City of Music

We're pleased to announce that the World Choir for Peace is now the official partner of the Hannover UNESCO City of Music.

Virtual Video to celebrate 75 years of the UN and it's International Court of Law

We are the first to make a video for the Hague Project Peace & Justice celebrating 75 years of the UN and its International Court of Justice. This project was initiated by Dutch harpist Lavinia Meijer and this song 'Hymn for the Nations' was performed for the opening of the International Court of Justice. Our version was performed by 17 of our core singers from around the world with this arrangement by one of our singers Helen Ostafew. For a whole year leading up to the 75th anniversary you are invited to make your own version with singers or any group of instrumentalists. Just download sheet music from instagram and post your version on Musical Instagram journey #unitedmusic75 We'd love to hear it!
